Acceptable use policy

Last updated: 9 September 2026

This policy forms part of the terms of service. It says what Sugarhold may be used for, and what it may not.

1. Who may use it

You must be 18 or over. One person, one account. Do not share your sign-in details, and do not let anyone else use your account.

2. What it is for

Understanding what happens to a bake when some of the sugar comes out. Domestic baking, personal use, and small-scale professional use where you are applying your own judgement to what it tells you.

3. High-risk uses — not permitted

Sugarhold must not be used for, or as any input to, decisions in any of the following, and no output of it may be presented as advice in any of them:

  • medical or clinical matters of any kind, including anything about diet or nutrition;
  • legal advice;
  • financial advice, lending or investment;
  • safety-critical systems;
  • employment, recruitment or performance decisions;
  • credit, insurance or housing decisions;
  • criminal justice, immigration or the administration of justice.

4. Other things you must not do

  • Use the service to produce, or to appear to produce, nutritional, dietary, health or medical advice — including by presenting a reading as if it said something about health.
  • Use it to make or support a food safety or shelf-life judgement, or to suggest that it has made one.
  • Present its output as a recipe, or add quantities to it and attribute them to Sugarhold.
  • Use it in commercial food production, or for regulatory labelling, product specification or compliance work of any kind.
  • Break the law, or help someone else to.
  • Upload or paste anyone else’s personal data.
  • Paste material you have no right to use, or use output in a way that infringes someone else’s rights.
  • Attempt to get round the health and food safety limits built into the service, including by rephrasing a question to avoid them.
  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-extract the site, resell access, or run the service through your own product without our written agreement.
  • Probe, attack, overload or interfere with the service or its infrastructure, or try to get at data that is not yours.
  • Use automated means to create accounts or to exceed your plan’s allowance.
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your connection with us.

5. Where you may use it

Sugarhold is available worldwide. You are responsible for complying with the law where you are. We do not make the service available to anyone subject to sanctions or export controls that would prohibit it, and we may block access where the law requires us to.

6. Fair use

Each plan carries a monthly allowance. Automated or bulk use designed to get round it is not permitted. If your genuine use is unusually heavy, talk to us at support@starbak.shop rather than working around the limit.

7. If this policy is broken

Depending on what has happened we may ask you to stop, suspend the account, or close it. Unless the breach is serious we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. Serious or unlawful use is reported to the authorities where we are required to report it. See section 11 of the terms of service.

8. Reporting misuse

If you see Sugarhold being used in a way this policy forbids, tell us at support@starbak.shop.

Questions about any of this: write to support@starbak.shop or call +44 7824871118. Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00 UK time.

Sugarhold is a trading name of STARBAK LIMITED.
